The United Church of Christ (UCC) is reaching out to its community for donations to the Annual Fund, emphasizing the importance of these contributions in maintaining their mission. Kent Siladi, interim director of UCC Philanthropy, expressed that the church's mission remains "consistent and meaningful 'in season and out of season.'" This message was shared through a new video that highlights the impact made possible by the Annual Fund this year.

Siladi noted, “The truth is, without your support — whether it’s from individuals, Conferences, or our other partners — we wouldn’t be able to do all the amazing ministries that take place in the National Setting.” He also referenced a quote by Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., stating its relevance today: “The church must be reminded that it is not the master or the servant of the state, but rather the conscience of the state.”

The UCC engages in numerous initiatives thanks to these donations. These include hurricane relief efforts organized by their Love of Neighbor team and advocacy work like the Our Faith Our Vote initiative from their Office of Public Policy in Washington D.C. Donations also support Racial Justice and Environmental Justice teams and provide resources such as Daily Devotional and Worship Ways online.

General Minister and President Rev. Karen Georgia Thompson recently completed her first year in her role. She has been working on expanding her vision for UCC as a welcoming "big tent" church striving toward a "just world for all."

Siladi extended an invitation to support this cause: “So, here’s my invitation to you: Join me in supporting the 2024 Annual Fund,” he said. “Together, we’re making a real difference — and it’s all thanks to you! May God’s abundant blessings be with you as you prayerfully consider your gift.”

Community members are encouraged to contribute to maintain these efforts. The Annual Fund video can be viewed online.
