Board-certified interventional cardiologist, Amit Kumar, MD, has recently joined the Franciscan Physician Network and is now welcoming new patients in Dyer and Munster. Dr. Kumar brings a wealth of experience to his new roles, having completed his medical education at the All India Institute of Medical Science in New Delhi, India, followed by a residency in internal medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo, N.Y.
Dr. Kumar's further specialization includes fellowships in cardiology and interventional cardiology at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, Mass., and in vascular and endovascular medicine at Brown University Health in Providence, R.I. His professional interests encompass areas like aortic aneurysms, carotid artery disease, complex coronary interventions, peripheral arterial disease, venous disorders, and valvular heart disease.
Dr. Kumar is multilingual, with proficiency in both English and Hindi, and is currently seeing patients at the Franciscan Physician Network Cardiology Medical Pavilion South, located at 2150 Gettler St., Suite 400, in Dyer, as well as at the Franciscan Physician Network Cardiology, situated at 701 Superior Ave., Suite J, in Munster.
