A new farmers market is set to open this summer in Beech Grove, Indiana, organized by the Community Health Improvement team at Franciscan Health. The market will operate on Tuesdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., starting June 3 and running until September 30. It will be located in the parking lot of the Franciscan VNS Home Care offices at 1300 Albany Street.
The initiative aims to provide an alternative to traditional grocery shopping by offering fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables. "We are excited to start this new farmers market for those looking for fresh produce and other locally sourced goods in the Beech Grove area," stated Stacey Fink, community health specialist at Franciscan Health. She added that their existing farmers market on the south side of Indianapolis has been successful, and they hope to replicate that success with this new venture.
This new market will complement another long-standing market held by Franciscan Health on Wednesdays near their Indianapolis hospital campus. Vendors offering a variety of local products such as fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats, eggs, honey, bread, baked goods, arts and crafts, coffee, fresh flowers, and soaps are invited to participate. Interested vendors can contact Stacey Fink via email at Stacey.Fink@FranciscanAlliance.org.
The event is being hosted by Franciscan Health along with the City of Beech Grove, Beech Grove Parks and Next Stop Beech Grove.
