Juliana Meyer, MD, a breast and melanoma surgeon with the Franciscan Physician Network Breast and Melanoma Specialists, has been recognized with the Healing Hands Award. This award honors physicians for their clinical skills, patient relations, research, stewardship, and alignment with the hospital's values and mission.
Dr. Meyer was nominated by several patients who praised her care. One patient noted: "From my first meeting with Dr. Meyer, she was so personable. She explains everything as she talks to you. She makes you feel at ease and has an awesome bedside manner. Dr. Meyer goes above and beyond. A great physician."
Another patient commented: "Dr. Meyer was very informative and caring. I appreciated her knowledge and respect. She has an excellent bedside manner." Further testimonials highlighted her poise in dealing with patients and performing surgery: "Her skills are exemplary. When you have cancer, you want to have the best medical attention and treatment. Dr. Meyer's academic background includes graduating from Indiana University School of Medicine followed by residency training at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
