Franciscan Health Cancer Center in Indianapolis has received a donation of 100 blankets from Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The blankets will be distributed to patients undergoing treatment at the center, providing them with comfort during their sessions and at home.

In addition to the blankets, Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru's team, based in Greenwood, Indiana, also delivered 50 art and craft activity kits for children whose parents are receiving bone marrow and stem cell transplants.

Michelle Nees, program coordinator for Indiana Blood & Marrow Transplantation at Franciscan Health Indianapolis, expressed gratitude for the donations: "This is wonderful for our patients. Our patients enjoy getting the blankets every day while receiving their treatments."

Nees added that seeing the joy on patients' faces when they receive a blanket is uplifting: "Subaru and Dreyer & Reinbold are great partners, and we are very thankful for all that they do for us and the entire community."

The contributions are part of Subaru's "Loves to Care" program, which focuses on health-related philanthropy. Andy Thimlar, sales manager at Dreyer & Reinbold Subaru, emphasized the importance of community involvement: "It means a lot to Subaru and Dreyer & Reinbold to be able to help the community."

Thimlar noted their ongoing relationship with Franciscan Health: "We have been doing this for a handful of years with Franciscan and we know the joy that it brings people. We have a great relationship with Franciscan."

The blankets will benefit patients in the IBMT unit at Franciscan Health Cancer Center Indianapolis. This facility is one of three in Indiana offering comprehensive transplant care. It specializes in treating leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma, and other blood disorders.

Franciscan Health Cancer Center Indianapolis is located at 8111 South Emerson Avenue in Indianapolis.
