CARMEL, Indiana – Franciscan Health Inspiring Women has joined forces with the Indiana Women's Running Festival to participate in the upcoming event on Saturday, August 30, in Carmel.
The festival is exclusively for women and includes three event distances: a half marathon, a 10k, and a 5k. All races begin and end near city hall.
Franciscan Health Inspiring Women is a free program offering women resources to promote health and well-being. Lori Price, the president and CEO of Franciscan Health Central Indiana, stated, "We are honored to be a part of the Indiana Women's Running Festival. The Franciscan Health Inspiring Women program is designed to inspire, uplift and educate women in the pursuit of a healthier mind, body, and spirit. These same principles are essential for the strong women who take part of the Indiana Women’s Running Festival."
Participants will receive a finisher's medal, an event shirt, and access to a post-race celebration, along with a rose at the finish line.
The festival is the largest of its kind in Indiana and one of the top ten female-only half marathons in the U.S. Last year, runners from 33 states and five countries participated, including six who competed in the U.S. Olympic Trials.
The course passes through various scenic spots, including parks and the Monon Greenway, with a post-race cookout at the Carmel Civic Square.
The race attracts a diverse range of participants, from competitive runners to those running for charity or in memory of loved ones, and some simply to enjoy the experience with friends.
Online registration for the Indiana Women's Running Festival is currently open.
