The Beecher Fire Protection District is currently accepting registrations for its 3rd Annual Junior Fire Academy. This program is open to children aged 6 to 16 who reside within the boundaries of the Beecher Fire Protection District or the Beecher School District. The academy will take place from July 21st to July 25th, 2025, running daily from 9:00 am to 11:30 am.
Participants in the academy will learn about the structure and responsibilities of the Beecher Fire Protection District, including the capabilities of various firefighting apparatus and the teamwork necessary for effective operations. The program includes lectures, hands-on training, and games covering topics such as firefighting techniques, search and rescue operations, and electrical safety. All activities are supervised by personnel from the Fire District.
The week-long event will conclude with a formal graduation ceremony at the John C. Dean Memorial Theater located at 673 Penfield Street, followed by a cookout.
