The Emergency Department at Franciscan Health Rensselaer is operational around the clock, every day of the year, to provide essential medical services to the community. The department is equipped to handle a wide range of emergencies, including trauma, illness, and injury for patients of all ages.
Patients visiting the emergency department can expect minimal wait times, with immediate rooming and quick physician consultation. The recent addition of Superior Ambulance stationed at the hospital facilitates swift patient transfers, contributing to improved clinical outcomes and higher patient satisfaction. Notably, this facility hosts the only trauma bay for ambulances in the area.
Carlos Vasquez, vice president and chief operating officer at Franciscan Health Rensselaer, emphasized the importance of their emergency department: "Our emergency department plays a vital role in providing essential healthcare services to our neighbors in the Rensselaer area," he said. He further noted that as a critical access hospital serving a rural region, having a well-equipped and staffed emergency department is crucial. "We have an outstanding team in our Rensselaer emergency department," Vasquez added.
The facility's emergency rooms are outfitted with advanced technology and staffed by board-certified physicians and nurses trained in various aspects of emergency care. These include emergency medicine, advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support, trauma nursing care, and pediatric emergency care.
Additionally, the Rensselaer ED offers 24/7 access to imaging services such as CT scans, MRIs, and ultrasounds for urgent situations. Each year, thousands of patients receive treatment at this facility for conditions like trauma, stroke, heart attacks, and other critical health issues.
