Dawn Scott, the chief nursing officer for Franciscan Health in Central Indiana, has been recognized with the District DAISY Leadership Award by the Indiana Organization for Nursing Leadership (IONL). The award was presented during IONL's 2025 Spring Conference, acknowledging her commitment to leadership in nursing within the Central District.

Lori Price, president and CEO of Franciscan Health Central Indiana, expressed pride in Scott's achievement. "We are very proud of Dawn for receiving this honor," Price stated. "To be recognized among the large group of nominees throughout the state is a true testament to the dedication that she has for her work and our patients at Franciscan."

The DAISY Foundation partnered with IONL to introduce district-level recognition aimed at honoring nurse leaders who inspire others and promote a healthy work environment. This initiative aligns with DAISY's mission to celebrate nurses making a meaningful difference locally across Indiana.

The awards ceremony featured stories highlighting courage, innovation, and dedication to nursing. Cathy Wichman, CEO of IONL, remarked on the significance of recognizing nurse leaders who excel as clinicians and administrators while leading with compassion. "This recognition is a powerful way to celebrate nurse leaders across Indiana who are not only excellent clinicians, educators, and administrators but also lead with heart," Wichman said.

The IONL District DAISY Leadership Awards will be an annual event alongside the State DAISY Leadership Award. More information about nominations and IONL’s mission can be found on their official website.
