Frederick Lane, MD, a colon and rectal surgeon with the Franciscan Physician Network Indiana Colon & Rectal Specialists, has been honored with the Franciscan Health Healing Hands Award. Dr. Lane has been practicing at Franciscan for over 35 years.
The Healing Hands Award acknowledges physicians for their excellence in clinical skills, patient relations, research, stewardship, and alignment with the hospital's ministry values and mission.
Dr. Lane was nominated by six different patients, many of whom have been under his care for several years. Their comments include: "He was kind and approachable. I felt comfortable in his care." Another stated, "Dr. Lane is a smart man and has a great bedside manner." Additionally, one patient mentioned, "He explains your health options and is very kind and professional."
Reflecting on his achievement, Dr. Lane credits his success to collaborating with excellent colleagues. "I have had tremendous partners and staff, both in the office as well as the surgery departments at the hospital and surgery centers," he said. "I also have had a great relationship with my colleagues through the years."
Dr. Lane is board-certified and received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine.
