Franciscan Health has initiated the construction of a new medical office building in St. John, Indiana. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on Monday and included a blessing by The Most Rev. Robert McClory, bishop of the Diocese of Gary.
The facility, located at 10323 Wicker Avenue, will be a two-story structure covering 82,881 square feet. Tonn and Blank Construction is responsible for the building's development. Once completed, it will feature an ExpressCare unit, primary care and specialty physician offices, diagnostic imaging services including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and laboratory facilities.
"Franciscan Health has proudly served the St. John community and its residents for decades," stated Daniel McCormick, MD, President and CEO of Franciscan Health Crown Point. "With this exciting new project, we are eager to enhance patient access by providing a convenient location that houses multiple services, further supporting our regional healthcare approach."
A similar medical office building with identical features commenced construction last week in Valparaiso. Both projects are expected to be finished by the end of 2026.
