Beecher 200U has announced a partnership with Qustodio, a company specializing in online safety solutions, to enhance the digital security of students. This initiative aims to provide parents with better tools to monitor and manage their children's online activities on school-owned devices.
Currently, Beecher 200U implements internet filtering technology that blocks inappropriate content as required by U.S. legislation. The new collaboration with Qustodio will extend these protections by offering each parent a free account for the Qustodio Parental App. This app allows parents to gain insights into their child's online behavior and manage screen time across multiple devices at home.
Joseph Duncan, Technology Director at Beecher 200U, expressed enthusiasm about this development: "We are excited to work with you and Qustodio to help our students develop healthy and safe online habits."
The app provides several features such as supervising online activity and accessing expert advice through Beecher200U’s Online Safety Hub. Parents will receive instructions via email from Qustodio on how to register their accounts or can start immediately by visiting the company's website.
Parents must use the same email address linked to Powerschool's parental access when registering for an account. Only those with data access for grades and attendance can set up an account. For any issues logging into parental accounts via PowerSchool, parents are advised to contact their school office.
This initiative is part of Beecher 200U's broader effort to ensure a safer digital environment for students while respecting privacy rights.
"Qustodio is a valuable partner that prioritizes privacy, safety and rights of students and parents worldwide," stated Duncan.
For more information about this program or additional resources, parents are encouraged to visit the school's online safety hub.
