Franciscan Health Indianapolis has been recognized by CareChex Awards as one of the Top 100 Hospitals in the United States for medical excellence in interventional coronary care and bone marrow transplant. This marks the fifth consecutive year that Franciscan Health Indianapolis has achieved this status for interventional coronary care and the second consecutive year for bone marrow transplants.

The recognition is part of CareChex's 2025 quality awards, which are determined through a comprehensive quality scoring system. This system evaluates inpatient quality performance across general, acute, and non-federal hospitals in the U.S.

Lori Price, president and CEO of Franciscan Health Central Indiana, commented on the achievement: “The all-encompassing nature of these ratings from CareChex shines a spotlight on the exceptional services offered across our departments in Indianapolis. We are very appreciative of the outstanding care our physicians, surgeons, APPs, nurses, and co-workers provide to the patients we are fortunate enough to serve.”

CareChex Awards utilize Bluebook Quantros Quality Outcomes Analytics Software to determine their rankings. The software offers solutions and services aimed at improving healthcare quality. Notably, CareChex awards do not rely on self-reported data but instead use a risk-adjustment methodology.

In addition to Franciscan Health Indianapolis, other hospitals within the Franciscan Health system were also acknowledged by CareChex. Franciscan Health Crown Point was named among the Top 100 Hospitals nationally for major cardiac surgery and coronary bypass surgery. Meanwhile, Franciscan Health Lafayette East received recognition for joint replacement excellence.
