The medical staff at Franciscan Health Michigan City is now accepting scholarship applications from LaPorte County high school seniors interested in healthcare careers. Applications will be accepted until March 17.
In 2021, the medical staff voted unanimously to create and fund a scholarship to honor physicians who have served the community. Since its inception, the program has awarded $20,000 in scholarships.
The annual scholarship offers up to $5,000 and is funded by the Franciscan Health Michigan City medical staff alongside the Franciscan Health Foundation.
Scholarships are available for LaPorte County high school seniors planning to pursue careers in healthcare. Interested students can obtain applications from their school's guidance offices. The submission deadline is March 17.
